David’s Criminal Defense Career:

David Raybin - Top Nashville Criminal Defense Attorney David Raybin currently heads the criminal defense division of Raybin & Weissman. David has been listed in Best Lawyers since 2001 because of his 35 years of expertise in criminal defense. His experience has included criminal trials, criminal appeals, parole hearings, as well as civil rights litigation.

David has represented crime victims in search of compensation from assailants or premises insurance companies. He served on the Tennessee Sentencing Commission for nine years and has been a member of the Tennessee Rules Commission for two terms. David also serves as the local counsel for Children’s Rights and aids them in foster care litigation in the state of Tennessee.

David Raybin is a prolific writer and has published many articles concerning criminal law and wrote the book Tennessee Criminal Law. His book is highly regarded by attorneys and judges, and has been frequently cited in the Tennessee courts. He is a two time recipient of the Justice Joe Henry Award by the Tennessee Bar Association for outstanding legal writing. David gives criminal justice presentations to religious, school, and civic youth groups and has spoken with the Judicial Conference Leadership Nashville, police departments, and various legal organizations throughout Tennessee.

Recent Cases:

In 2013 David served as counsel for Mr. David Lineberry, the developer of the Hotel Indigo. Mr. Lineberry was cleared of all fraud charges in a tough case involving a major banking organization.

In his most recent case David obtained an acquittal in a homicide case in Williamson County.
